You have to work for it!

It's easy to wish for things. The hard part is taking action. Stepping up and taking responsibility for your outcome does require a dream or desire.
If you're unemployed and want a job you cannot simply wish for one. The likelihood of someone coming to your door and dropping it on you is fairly slim. You have got to go out talk to people, fill out applications and follow up.
If you desire a car, I'm pretty sure someone is not going to park a mustang in your driveway with the pink slip in the seat. You've got to research, find a car that works for and go and give someone money.
A functioning relationship is what is in your heart. Trust, communication, understanding are all essential requirements to head in that direction.
My point is that if you want and desire things you have to work for them. Sure wish, hope and pray, the mind is the most powerful tool, but then you have to call to action. Get up and do something.
I love helping people. I love working with others to achieve their goals while achieving mine.
I heard and interesting take on goal setting the other day and it has stuck with me.
SMART

  1. Set Specific goals - be detailed on EXACTLY what you want. I want to lose 10% body fat by Christmas.
  2. Set Measurable goals - be able to track the PROGRESS. I will lose 4% by December 1st
  3. Set Ambitious goals - shoot for the moon but be REALISTIC you will not wake up skinny tomorrow.
  4. Set Relevant goals - make sure your goals are relevant to YOUR life
  5. Set a Timeline - set a DEADLINE. If you don't you'll have forever to reach your goals and that is exactly how long it will take...

My office, friends and family are starting a 3 day shakeology cleanse on the 15th of October. I invite everyone that can to participate. I wanted to do the 21 day challenge with Carl but that was just not fesable at this time. So we decided to do the 3 day instead!
The more the marrier for sure! We will have a private FB page for support. So let me know if you want me to add you to it.
If you have ever thought about doing a cleanse NOW is the time. Make the fourth quarter the best yet!!

What Can Shakeology Do for YOU?

It can help you-
  • Lose Weight and Reduce Cravings
  • Increase your Energy and Stamina
  • Improve your Digestion and Regularity
  • Lower your Cholesterol
A ninety day study was done and the individuals involved replaced one meal a day with Shakeology. They also ate a balanced diet, and did some moderate exercise three times a week. The results were pretty amazing…on average the total cholesterol of the participants was reduced by 30%, and LDL cholesterol was reduced on average by 38%!

3 Day Shakeology Cleanse

There are so many "diets" out there it can be quite confusing on what's what. From everything from the Cabbage diet, Weight Watchers, Atkins, over the counter diet pills and prescriptions, Over the past years I'm sure, I've tried them all. I feel like I started dieting when I was 8. OK, OK maybe when I was 12. One thing I learned about diets is that they ALL work. Yep I said it. They all really do work. I can promise you that if you eat cabbage soup everyday for every meal you will lose weight. If you eat only meat for every meal for every day you Will lose weight. If you eat X amount of points you will lose weight. The creators of these diets are truly intelligent people and their systems do work. I've seen it; I've done it!Diets, like everything else, work; if you actually follow them.
The key is finding something you can stick to long term. Something that you can do and something that will make your body function better. I have finally figured out that its more than just a diet to lose weight but a lifestyle change to be the best me, I can be. I know FITNESS + NUTRITION = SUCCESS. Chocolate Shakeology and Insanity is the no brainer part. Easy as pie. But the grocery store at times can be a bit confusing with all the labels so when I'm there I try to stick to the outside areas of the store. Notice this is where the "real" food is: fruits, veggies, deli, dairy, eggs, cheese.

My 5 go to items at the store:

  1. Fruits: Apples, avocado, peaches and pears.  about 100 calories
  2. Frozen broccoli - I love it, my co-workers, on the other hand, not so much...  30 calories
  3. La Tortilla Wheat Wraps. They have less carbs than the low carb ones. Very tasty! 50 calories
  4. No sugar added Chocolate Pudding cups - Bill Cosby would be proud. 60calories.
  5. Lean protein. I prefer chicken. 100 calories

The Art of the Cheat

You can exercise all day long but if you are eating the wrong things you will not lose the weight. -I am learning this the hard way. I convince myself that it's ok to eat that donut because I have or will workout. Which in a sense I feel like it is ok... I want to enjoy life. I love food. I have always considered myself a foody! I love a glass (by a glass I mean bottle) of wine! Ice cold draft beer is pretty fabulous too! I enjoy watching football and I'm fairly confident that football can not exist without beer and chicken wings. It's the perfect trifecta.
Good news for me, I know this is how I operate and knowing is half the battle.
How can my fitness/health can coexist with my beer drinking/fried food eating habits?

1. Don't deprive - pick one day or better yet one meal per week to cheat.
2. Do extra BEFORE you cheat. The extra workout may just detour the cheat.
3. Don't beat yourself up about the cheat. Stress causes belly fat!
4. Do give yourself credit when you don't cheat. But don't lie to yourself either.
5. Don't become stagnant. Keep looking toward your goals and by all means keep moving!
